Today was the first session of Astronomy Club for the Secondary Ones. We welcome them to the club and hope that they will participate actively in the club for the years to come and make the rest of us proud. Though it is sad that we are going to leave the club in a few months time, we are hopeful that our juniors will be more successful, and we aim to guide the new members through this period.
In the first session, the members did a presentation of the beginnings of the Universe. We watched a few videos talking about The Big Bang, Higgs Field and so on. Personally, I think that this is a good introduction to the world of astronomy as it can spark interests in them and in turn motivate them to inquire more about the phenomenon outside our world. I also think that it is good that us Sec 4s can also revise the basics.
